Now the SS MkIV Series 80 has a Serial number in the SN16xxx area. I have aftermarket stocks on both pistols by the way. I have a 1990 which is under my 1988 SS GCNM MkIV Series 80 in 45ACP which also has a collet barrel bushing. I think Colt came out with the Delta Gold Cup in 10mm in 1987 and the first year or so one could buy them in blue or SS and then Colt only made them in SS. Now to the Delta Gold Cup part of the mystery. My blue 1988 has a serial number of FN16xxx for instance. The normal serial number for the 80 Series GCNM would be a FNxxxxx type number. Up till now I thought Colt had stopped using them in their Govs and Gold Cups about 1989. The 1988 MkIV Series 80 still has the collet or "finger" barrel bushing. I have one made in 1988 on the bottom under a 1966 GCNM on top and a 1979 GCNM MkIV Series 70 in the middle. First, it looks like an GCNM MkIV Series 80 for sure. If I had to guess I would say that Colt was using up parts before they came out with their enhanced versions in 1992.
